the viral fever.

at 39.3°C makes a very woozy me indeed. on the 1st day of paediatrics too. sigh... very untimely, now i won't be able to meet up with friends i really wanted to see. sorry guys.

off to a bad start, but methinks i'm going to like this posting - it being a medical posting, rather than surgical. hope i'm not speaking too soon.

sleep!

bigger than ourselves.

2008, the year that so much changed.

there have been trying times. things that i didn't know could happen to me, happened. i used to think (i mean this seriously) that i lived in an alternative existence where bad things did not happen because i tried my best to be good. now i think perhaps there lives a me somewhere else with a happy, carefree life. perhaps we exchanged places along the way.

i wanted to blog, but the words didn't come. blogging about pretty things doesn't cheer me up as much as before. everything feels tired right now.

be blessed, my friends. know that i love you.

In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down or cut him
'Til he cried out in his anger and his shame
I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains

We were in love, we were in love

the night before neonatology.

may i not get something that i've never seen before... and may i pass the test at least decently! from left - wenyang, krithikaa, deepa, dr mary daniels, me, dennis, xuams.

--

thoughts after the test... if x represents the number of conditions bean has seen before and y represents the number of conditions bean has never seen before, the probability of getting a condition not seen before is y/(x+y). where y is considerably larger than x and x is negligibly small,

y/(x+y) = y/y = 1! yay!

okay enough now. to obsandgynae!

don't you just love it when it rains?

breathing in the tangy smell of renewal. being refreshed, and happy for life's blessings. trying not to get so worried about not being able to remember the dosages of insulin/ mg sulphate/ oxytocin/ what nots.
I ask for a moment's indulgence to sit by thy side. The works
that I have in hand I will finish afterwards.

Away from the sight of thy face my heart knows no rest nor respite,
and my work becomes an endless toil in a shoreless sea of toil.
Today the summer has come at my window with its sighs and murmurs; and
the bees are plying their minstrelsy at the court of the flowering grove.
Now it is time to sit quite, face to face with thee, and to sing
dedication of life in this silent and overflowing leisure.

the week ahead is.

just caught a bit of the beijing olympics opening ceremony on tv. it was rather... mesmerising.

happy to have somewhat recovered from my bout of GE yesterday... appetite's not back yet but hey no more n/v/d! and no more fever too, yeah! will be avoiding a certain fast food place for a long, long time.

am feeling rather small about things now... i ask myself, why so silly again?

the week ahead will be a difficult one, but onward! O&G MBBS, have to take this very seriously. promising a new me, next week.
